I would like to know how I should treat my waste water after biological treatment to make it good enough to be used again in bleaching and dyeing. I would like to know how I should treat my waste water after biological treatment to make it good enough to be used again in bleaching and dyeing. What sort of investment is the best one and most importantly what will be the treatment cost per ton?
In order to achieve desired norms I appreciate your views and efforts. My suggestions are as follows: 1) Check the COD ( 1 Gm/Ltr solution) of each chemical which is entering in factory gate. 2) Replace those which are contributing more in COD level 3) The chemicals used in pre-treatment might be contributing more. Try not to discharge ETP hence but set a system to recycle it ( you can easily recycle those drain baths without treatment or with minimum treatment). 4) Try to separate salt from dyeing drains & modern filtration devices will make it colorless. You can easily reuse in soaping or any other washing treatments. 5) Need to take a sample in lab for generating confidence as we have fore sighted fear of spoiling the batches I am sure we can recycle more then 95% of effluent & which can be proven by reduction of water input of factory.

By introducing the salt recovery plant, the characteristrics of the balance water is less complicated. Nevertheless, this has to be treated with a biological plant (with less load) and filteration. For such kind of plants (where salt is to be recovered), the process has to be studied in detail and then an appropriate solution is guaranteed. Definitely, we should put our efforts to reduce water consumption and have a reduced waste water to treat.

Generally the plants designed by us treat all the waste water (dyeing, bleaching, sizing, washing, canteen, toilet etc) in biological process. The treated water can be discharged as per local regulations. In the case water should be recovered for use in the process house, then through microfiltration, ultrafiltration and multi stage reverse osmosis we are able to recover up to 90% water with TDS less than 200 mgl. The balance 10% (reject water) is evaporated through natural or mechanical evaporation. Such plants come under zero liquid discharge. We have the lowest running cost both for discharge and zero discharge. Last year, we introduced a revolutionary patented technology for recovering salt brine directly from the dye bath. This system not only recovers salt for you but also reduces the load to WWTP and water recovery plant, thus reducing tremendously the capital and operational cost.
