EUROWET compact unit for drinking water

Water from the Little Ruaha River in Tanzania runs past Tosamaganga village where there is an orphanage, a hospital and a mission however for years it was not safe to use for drinking or cooking due to its high turbidity, especially in the wet season, and organic contaminants.

Euro Mec collaborated closely with the Tosamaganga Community to rehabilitate an old river water intake system, provide a new water treatment plant (WTP) and install an important water distribution system taking the clean, safe drinking water to the community’s orphanage, hospital, mission and surrounding villages.

With information gleaned from several site visits and the Diocese of Tosamagnaga Euro Mec Engineers designed an efficient WTP not only capable of treating raw water from the Little Ruaha River but also fully transportable and able to be rapidly installed on site.

The Community of Tosamaganga was fully involved in the project which meant that Euro Mec sent equipment to the site to be stored in advance of the installation which was eventually carried out with Euro Mec engineers and an enthusiastic team of workers from the local community. While Euro Mec remains available for all types of technical support the community interest and involvement promises that the WTP will be taken care of for many years.
